Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Hi! I'm Cindy. I am a bit of a social media dinosaur - I don't have much to offer, no accounts to share, no nothing, just a few words on a page. My love for the written word goes back to my high school English teacher, Mrs. Snuverink, a lovely Scottish lady who cackled her way through Macbeth's opening scene, "When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain." To this day, when I think of her and her voice, I smile, and thank her for her time and attention - because of her, I studied more English after high school, and have maintained a love and respect for the magic and power of the written word.

I'm a mom, daughter, sister, friend, former doctor, current student, and human being with potential. Still trying to figure out what that potential is, but that's why we're all here, right? Stories move me, whether in the form of music from the 80s, the magic of JK Rowling, C.S. Lewis, or Deborah Harkness, the spirit of Mitch Albom, the glory of Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or the truthful words of Oliver Jeffers or Bill Watterson's "Calvin and Hobbes."

Unscripted Musings is very much an impromptu venture, prompted by this period of change. With the closure of schools and other public venues, cancellation of events and activities, and prohibition of social gatherings, social isolation only clarifies my need for connection with the outside world. And thus, Unscripted Musings was born.

Unscripted Musings may be a one-hit-wonder or something that grows and evolves. Who knows? What I do know is that it feels pretty darn nice when friends share a thought, an image, or a joke with me - it lets me know that for a moment, somebody took the time to think of me. So this is for you as much as it is for me. I hope you enjoy it.
